George L. Hickman is a fiction writer born in Providence, Rhode Island. He has a degree in philosophy and classics from Bucknell University and intends to graduate this year with a masters in English from Ball State University. He is currently interested in exploring the similarities between gender-identity and place-identity, how characters who move away from their birthplace and move away from their gender assigned at birth are similarly affected by shifts in cultural values. As a transgender and polyamorous artist, his work is often unapologetically queer. When he is not writing, George is an instructor of first-year-composition, enjoys live action roleplaying, and spends too much time worrying about the state of his hair.
