Shay Alexi is a storyteller, poet, intersectional feminist, and dog enthusiast from western Michigan.

She attended Ball State University as a Whitinger scholar where she earned a BFA in Acting. In her senior year, she attended her first national poetry slam- CUPSI- where she was awarded a slot in the Best of the Rest showcase for her piece "Song of the Prettybird". Her work has been featured by Button Poetry, Write About Now, and The Tempest.

Shay currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia where she is spending the year writing poetry, tutoring tiny humans, and establishing an inclusive and experimental theatre company- the Actors Theatre of Georgia. She is a co-writer of their first devised work, currently titled IV°, and made her regional acting debut as the titular character in Hamlet this past fall.
